Contacting the Newsroom |
||
| Send your information to WVIK news director Herb Trix, by fax, e-mail, or regular mail. Please include all the basic information - who, what, why, when, and where, plus the name and phone number of a contact person in case we need more information or would like to arrange an interview.
Usually about two weeks before an event is plenty of time, and feel free to call and confirm that your press release or announcement was received. Depending on the event, it may be used as a news story, on our community calendar of public service announcements, or both. |

Similar to Washington Week in Review, Iowa Press, and other public television programs, WVIK's very first public affairs program remains devoted to a weekly analysis of local news stories. After starting the program 20 years ago, Don Wooten handed it over to News Director Herb Trix who continues as host. Former morning news editor Kai Swanson and current morning news editor Michelle O'Neill have also taken part in the series.
The format remains the same: two newspaper reporters are invited to come in to discuss stories they have covered earlier in the week. |
All aspects of the story may be addressed, from its substance to the manner in which it was covered and why it was worth the attention. Join host Herb Trix as he talks with radio, newspaper, and television reporters from the Quad City area, Springfield, Des Moines, Washington DC, and across the nation. Topics range from politics and elections, to business, agriculture, education, the environment, sports, and culture. Do you value public affairs programming on WVIK?
